Teacher Yu Mu

Teacher Yu Mu is a piano educator, performer, and collaborative pianist with a strong foundation in piano performance, music theory, and musical interpretation. His formal music education began at the secondary-school level, where he attained Distinction in GCE “O” Level Higher Music. He subsequently entered Singapore's Music Elective Programme at junior college and achieved an A in GCE “A” Level H2 Music, majoring in performance. This was followed by a Diploma in Music with Distinction and a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, conferred by the Royal College of Music, London, where he received the San San Music Merit Award. He also attained Distinction in the LTCL Diploma in Piano Performance.

In his teaching, he guides students through performance preparation, music theory, aural skills and audition readiness for Higher Music, the Music Elective Programme and DSA pathways. His students hold a 100% Merit and Distinction rate in ABRSM examinations.
