A refined piano education for young learners

Polaris began with a simple wish: a space where students never feel they are in a stressful environment to learn the piano. The studio is equipped with many different materials suited to each student’s needs, so every lesson can be shaped around the child in front of us. Above all, we wanted to build a space where aspiring pianists thrive.

Polaris Music Academy was founded by Jovanna Yam, a pianist, educator, and digital music personality. As Founder and Director, she sets the academy’s teaching standards.

Jovanna graduated as the Best Graduate of the 2025 Cohort from the Royal College of Music | NAFA, where she was awarded a two-year Bachelor’s scholarship and completed her Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Instrumental and Vocal Teaching with First Class Honours. Her musical experience extends beyond the classroom, with performances on national television, at Changi Airport, and with Mediacorp.

At the heart of her teaching is her ability to connect deeply with children. Jovanna is known for creating a warm yet structured learning environment, building trust quickly, and guiding students with patience, clarity, and care. Her work has also been featured through talks and local media platforms, including ADPRex and 987FM.
